Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded immediately after World War II in Noale Italy by Alberto Beggio. Initially concentrating on small capacity bikes and component manufacturer for other companies, they now produce a large range of models from scooters through to superbikes. Aprilia always had a strong motorsport connection, beginning with motocross racing and then a multiple world championship winning road racing program with riders such as Valentino Rossi and Max Biaggi. They are still at the forefront of Moto GP to this day.
Philippe Starck is a French industrial architect and designer known for his wide range of work including interiors, architecture, household objects, furniture, boats and other vehicles. In 1995 Aprilia commissioned Philippe Starck to design the 6.5 Motò, based on the 650 Pegaso, and the resulting bike was such a distinctive design it was displayed in New York’s Modern Art Museum. This 1996 example presented in standard trim is supplied with an owners manual, an MOT until the 30th March, 2024, and a current V5C. Please note that the vendor reports that the speedo is not working at the moment and needs attention.
