The TC Midget was the first postwar MG. Launched in 1945, it sold exceptionally well, with immense interest in the United States to the point it is stated the TC was responsible for starting the American craze for the British Sportscar. 10,001 TCs were produced with notable owners including HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, who owned one before marrying Queen Elizabeth in 1947.
'DJN 146' is a desirable home market MG TC manufactured and registered in 1949 and presented in Primrose Yellow with contrasting red leather interior. This particular example has been in the same family ownership for nearly 60 years, having been purchased by the current owner’s father in 1963, before being sold to his uncle around 1990 and subsequently restored in 1991. 'DJN 146' has covered under 500 miles since and now belongs to his nephew. The vendor rates the condition of the bodywork, engine, transmission and gearbox and interior trim as ‘Very Good’ with the paintwork and electrical equipment as ‘Good’.
Included with the vehicle is a folder of paperwork including a number of invoices and workshop manuals, and not photographed but also included are side screens. Please note that the speedometer and rev counter are not currently working and will need investigating.
