Launched in 1949 as a replacement for the ageing P3, the distinctive Phil Armstrong-designed Rover P4 family of Four-Door Saloons remained in production until 1964. Over 130,000 were produced, many of which continue to provide sterling service to this day. The original 75 featured a 2.1-litre six-cylinder engine and remained in production until replaced by the MKII variant of 1954. This brought some styling changes, including a three-piece wrap-around rear window. The following year the engine was enlarged to 2.2-litres and overdrive became an option in 1956. The 75 line was superseded by the 100 in 1959 after some 43,241 examples had been made. The seemingly very original sale car is a 1955 MKII 75. Its Black bodywork is teamed with a Brown leather interior and it is being sold with current V5C. P4s remain a very affordable British classic, unmolested examples of which are becoming ever harder to find.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
