Apparently inspired by the Peugeot Quadrilette, the now immortal Austin Seven was announced in 1922. It is amazing to think that its tiny splash-lubricated 696cc (soon increased to 747cc) side-valve engine was the design of 18-year old draughtsman Stanley Edge, and the Seven immediately became the smallest four cylinder-engined car on the British market. Taken to heart by the public, the Seven remained in production from 1922 until 1939, during which time some 290,000 were produced. It was also manufactured under licence in France, Germany, Japan and America. The remaining cars are a vital element of the vintage movement. This delightfully original-looking example is an RP Saloon featuring Blue over Black paintwork and Black interior trim. It is believed to have benefited from a £3,500 engine refurbishment, though there is no supporting paperwork. It does, however, come with a 1980 V5 and eight old MOTs running from 1996 to 2011.
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is fitted with a later three-bearing Austin Ruby engine.
