Lot details Registration No: UTU 353 Chassis No: DRH13929 Mot Expiry: May 2014
Reputedly one of just 50 UK survivors (from the 1,233 Series I Corniche Convertibles made), chassis DRH13929 was first owned by film director John Boulting whose credits include such British classics as Brighton Rock, Lucky Jim and I'm All Right Jack. Accompanied by MOT certificates dating back to 1978, the four-seater is believed but not warranted to have covered just 87,500 miles from new. Entering the current custodianship three years ago, the distinctively-registered `UTU 353' is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, automatic transmission, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork, paintwork and mohair hood (though, he notes that the air-conditioning needs re-gassing). Serviced by marque specialist Colbrook during February 2012, the Corniche passed its last MOT test on May 9th this year with just one advisory concerning the offside wing mirror which has since been rectified. Boasting a free road fund licence valid until April 2014, it will be driven to the sale.
PLEASE NOTE: The vendor is retaining the three badges shown affixed to the front of the car in the catalogue photo for sentimental reasons.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
