Cars from the Herbert Austin firm have rarely been exiting but the introduction of the Seven in 1922 changed its fortunes and no sale would be complete without an example of this much loved car and the example we have for you today is a Top Hat saloon.
This delightful car was restored in the late 1970's by a Mr G.W. Birks, a well known painter and artist from Pudsey near Leeds unfortunately now deceased, and there is a pictorial record of that restoration in the history files. It was a major attraction as a museum exhibit for many years and although built in 1929 it was first registered on the eighth of January 1930. It has over the years been rallying in Belgium and it is described as being in very good condition throughout with what is believed to be it's original registration number still intact and with the car.
Austin Sevens are lovely cars that can get you through the gates of any event and this car is currently tested and taxed and ready to drive away from today's sale and enjoyed by the lucky new owners.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
You can collect your new pride and joy from our venue until 1pm the day following the sale or our partners are on hand to help arrange safe transportation:
