Lot details Registration No: ECO 802 Chassis No: 3036 Mot Expiry: Exempt
In common with so many other British car manufacturers, the Coventry-based Lea Francis concern started life as a bicycle builder and took its name from the founding directors - Richard Lea and Graham Francis. The company's most produced model was the 14hp, that was available in Saloon or Estate guise and powered by a 1767cc four-cylinder engine. Some 1500 examples vacated the factory between 1946 and 1950, a percentage of which have subsequently been reborn as rakish-looking two our four-seat Specials, of which 'ECO 802' is a handsome example. Its Richard Mead-penned body features Cream paintwork, Red hood and side-screens and Tan-coloured interior trim. The vendor currently classes the vehicle's bodywork, paintwork, interior, engine and four-speed manual gearbox as all being in 'excellent' order. Not only are such Specials pleasing on the eye but, being much lighter than the Saloons and Estates that spawned them, tend to perform rather better too.
PLEASE NOTE: The vendor has informed us that this vehicle comes with two extra tyres and a tonneau cover.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
