Although Ferdinand Porsche was responsible for many designs prior to 1939, the first car to bear his name was created by his son Ferry and long time associate Karl Rabe and was named the 356. The 911 was introduced in 1963 and is still available today and is one of the all time great sports cars with the shape being virtually unchanged in practically forty years.
The 1985 example of the Carrera Supersport is the much preferred Targa model, the centre section of the roof is removable, and it is described as being in absolutely excellent condition throughout. It comes with some service history, a drivers manual, various old MOT's and lots of invoices for maintenance carried out over the years and it naturally has the manual five speed gearbox and the 3164cc six cylinder engine and the mileage of 78,000 miles is believed to be correct from new.
This is an extremely rare and desirable Porsche, which is in exemplary condition throughout and should be keenly contested at today's sale.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
