The Winged Victory of Samothrace or Goddess of Victory Motor Car Mascot, stamped Le Verrier to the base area ), correctly headless and armless, (as per the famous Winged Victory of Samothrace statue in the Louvre, in Paris)
The World famous Statue in the the Louvre was discovered on a remote Greek Island called Samothrace in 1863 by French Diplomat and Archaeologist Charles Champoisseau; the armles and headless " Winged Victory of Samothrace " is also known as " The Nike ".
Signed Le Verrier and stamped 'Bronze', it was reputedly adopted by prestigious French car maker , Automobiles Lorraine-Dietrich , and fitted to their motor cars in the Edwardian period.
