Finished in Antrim Blue metallic with duo-tone Parchment / Pacific Blue leather upholstery and a Blue mohair hood, chassis SCFAB32382K403028 was supplied to its one and only registered keeper by JCT600 Ltd of Leeds. Featuring the more popular five-speed automatic transmission, the 2+2-seater was first road registered as ‘V12 PDK’ on 20th May 2002. The recipient of ‘Amazing Glaze’ paint and interior treatments two months later, the DB7 Vantage Volante has been serviced by its supplying dealer no fewer than ten times at 1,222, 3,093, 6,481, 6,648, 8,047, 9,129, 9,724, 10,915, 12,404 and 12,758 miles. Returning to Leeds for a Visual Health Check on 21st March 2019 at 13,230 miles, the Aston Martin is warranted to have covered just 14,760 miles from new. Kept garaged and still sporting its original ‘JCT 600’ number plates, the 2+2-seater has recently benefited from refurbished alloy wheels, skimmed brake discs and new tyres. Starting readily upon inspection, ‘V12 PDK’ remains highly presentable. There is some light scuffing to the underside of the front bumper and a few minor stone chips but the car’s overall appearance belies its eighteen years. The liquid crystal display for the stereo has failed. Offered for sale with hood cover, wind deflector, book pack, Becker stereo instructions, JCT600 oil bottle carrier, Aston Martin battery conditioner and history file, this exceptional DB7 Vantage Volante would grace many a marque collection.

Model Background:

Introduced at the March 1999 Geneva Salon, the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage eschewed its predecessor's 3228cc supercharged straight-six for a 5935cc 48-valve, all-alloy V12 that developed 420bhp and 400lbft. Available with a choice of six-speed manual, five-speed automatic or (later) Touchtronic semi-auto transmission, the DB7 Vantage could be had in Coupe or Volante (Convertible) guises. The latter had its top speed limited to 165mph but could reportedly accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds. To cope with such performance, the 2+2-seater's structure, suspension and brakes were all upgraded. Asked to rework his masterpiece, stylist Ian Callum added a reshaped back bumper, more pronounced sills, combined driving lamps / indicators and horizontal bars to the radiator grille. Priced at £104,486 in 2002, Aston Martin's flagship soft-top came with central locking, electric windows / mirrors, traction control, ABS, air-conditioning, front airbags, alarm / immobilizer and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard. Notable as the marque's first V12 production model, the DB7 Vantage lasted until 2003 by which time some 2,056 Volantes had been made.
