In production from 1969 to 1974, the MkI Capri has become a motoring icon. The introduction of the Essex 3-litre V6 engine into Ford's European `Pony Car' offered plenty of `go' to match the `show' and it is unsurprising that rare survivors such as the GXL offered here are now extremely sort after amongst collectors. Due to a short production run the GXL has always been relatively scarce and was the first of the line to feature a quad headlamp arrangement.
