This delightful little machine has been built to evoke the spirit of the late fifties and early sixties lightweight Mondial racing machines using a combination of newly made replica and road derived components in its construction.
The rolling chassis is comprised of a replica frame, swinging arm, yokes, tank and seat with a front wheel from one of the later racing Mondials installed and a road models rear wheel. Alloy rims and forks sourced from a road going Mondial complete the chassis.
The engine, which is believed to displace 250cc is based on a set of crankcases from a road going 175cc Mondial as is the carburettor. A wholly new gear tower unlike any fitted to a Mondial has been made to enable the use of an original racing Mondial cylinder head.
It is attractively presented in the traditional blue and silver Mondial livery.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
