The story of the Volkswagen Beetle is like no other. Sixty-six years of production, over 21 million examples manufactured, factories on five continents, etc. The statistics are as staggering as the car's history. In 1933, Ferdinand Porsche was instructed to design and develop a 'Volkswagen' (people's car) that was basic, affordable, and capable of transporting two adults and three children at up to 100 kph. The newcomer finally went into production in 1938 and, while it inevitably evolved over the years, the basic concept was never altered - an enduring tribute to the genius of Dr. Porsche.
This right-hand drive Beetle 1300 was manufactured in 1968 and first registered in the UK in December that year. Still finished in its original Sevenna Beige colour, the Beetle features a new interior in the colours of Green and Yellow. Fitted with the 1285cc flat-four engine, mated to the four-speed gearbox. The Volkswagen was subject to a comprehensive restoration in approximately 2014. Uprated with disc brakes and two-tone wheels steel wheels with dome chrome hubcaps.
In current custodianship since 2017, the Volkswagen has only five former keepers. Offered with two sets of keys, V5C and original stamped service record with no less than twenty entries. The large history file additionally comprises of Instruction Manual, Book of Volkswagen, around 30 past MOT certificates, previous tax discs, a photo album of the car before restoration, and a large collection of past invoices dating back to the early 1970s.
