Although best known housing a Triumph twin cylinder power unit or Matchless single the Rickman Metisse scrambler chassis has played host to a wide range of engines including BSA singles, both unit and pre unit, Norton and Yamaha twins and ESO and Jawa singles. In recent years the Jawa option has become increasingly popular among pre 65 competitors thanks to its ready availability, sensible cost and high power output.
The example offered utilises a rebuilt 1965 Jawa 2 valve engine running on methanol and delivering, according to the vendor, approximately 70 bhp and a close ratio AMC four speed gearbox. The primary drive is housed in a set of slim Royal Enfield cases. The Rickman frame is fitted with Falcon shock absorbers, unused forks and orange bodywork. The machine requires engine plates, a carburettor, cables, a chain and an oil circulation kit to convert to oil in frame to complete.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
