We are indebted to the Vendor for the following information:
"The Legendry CB1100R Built in limited numbers to dominate the production racing scene in the early 80’s Taken to many victories by the likes of Rocket Ron Haslam and Joey Dunlop.
This example was imported from Germany last year where it had sat in dry store since about 1995. It has subsequently been re-commissioned MOT’d and registered with UK plates.
Work done included:
All brake callipers and both master cylinders rebuilt with new pistons, pads and seals
Carbs cleaned and rebuild kits fitted, new inlet rubbers
New tyres, New filters and oil, New battery, Fork seals, DID Chain & plugs
Top end strip and inspection new gaskets, valves reground and re shimmed
Head and barrels vapour blasted and re-painted
The crankcases too were manually cleaned and painted too but sadly the Engine enamel used was no good and there is some blistering to that paint though not really visible because of fairing.
This is an unrestored example by no means mint, but very original all bodywork is original and good with only minor scuffs and marks form its age. The Fairing on these is I believe the first use of carbon fibre on a production motorcycle. Even the toolbox is still on it.
The only major non original part is the silencers which look similar but are not correct.
By Modern standards the 115hp out of the box is not a lot, but in the day this was exceptional and on 1980’s narrow tyres more than enough. These are exciting to ride with a real raw race feel.
With only 1500 made in the world a rare machine indeed."
