The CB range of Honda twins proved to be immensely successful in Europe and the UK where their sporting performance and styling were in accord with prevailing fashions, however, in the States it was the CL series that found favour with buyers. In CL form the machines adopted a high level exhaust, an abbreviated front mudguard, braced, high "scrambles" type handlebars and trial pattern tyres endowing the machines with a rugged appearance suggesting a degree of off road versatility without compromising their on-road performance.

The CL variant of the CB160 adopted all of the features found on the larger CL machines including a substantial bash plate to protect the otherwise exposed crankcases. The example offered is presented to a high standard throughout having formerly formed part of a private Dutch Honda collection. The odometer displays only 2400 miles and the motorcycle is presented with the paperwork necessary to obtain a UK registration number.
