Lot details Registration No: GMH 660 Chassis No: 1090-1505 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Having formed part of the renowned Sharpe Family Collection based at the Gables Service Station in Rayleigh, Essex since the early 1970s this imposing limousine on the 138" wheelbase has never before been offered for sale since its acquisition. Powered by a 282 cu.in. 8-cylinder engine coupled to a manual three-speed gearbox, the car has only ever been used on rare occasions whilst in their ownership and currently shows an unwarranted 68,000 miles on its odometer.
Delivered via the UK agents Leonard Williams & Co on 20th July 1937, the history of the car prior to its purchase by the vendors is sadly unknown although the engine number quoted on the logbook would suggest an engine change at some point in its life as it appears to date from c.1940.
A right-hand drive example finished in maroon with black leather to the front seats and grey Bedford cord to the rear passenger compartment, 'GMH 660' is described as being in "good condition" as regards its bodywork, engine, paintwork, electrics, gearbox and interior and should respond well to re-commissioning work following its period of storage. Offered with Swansea V5 document.
