Lot details Registration No: 675 YUE Chassis No: A3504507/9HS0 Mot Expiry: July 2013
Introduced in 1954, the Sunbeam MKIII utilized the same independent front suspension, gutsy 2267cc four-cylinder engine and four-speed column-change gearbox as its Sunbeam-Talbot 90 MKII predecessor. Notable for winning the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally outright, the newcomer was visually distinguished by three `portholes' just below the bonnet line on each flank. The vendor comments on `675 YUE' as follows: "good overall condition, runs well, much work already done including reconditioned carburetor. It was repainted some years ago, the chrome is good and the interior trim is original". He rates the bodywork, engine and paint as "good" and the four-speed column-change gearbox as "OK".
