Lot details Registration No: NTC 29M Frame No: CD1753016880 Engine No: CD175E3017362 cc: 175 MOT Expiry Date: None
Honda's first 175cc twin to be introduced into the UK range, termed CD175A, looked more akin to the oriental style lightweights which preceded it. Pressed steel frame, underslung engine, deep curvy front mudguard etc. characterised most of the early Hondas first imported to the UK in 1961. Later replaced by the CD175 AK3, of a much more conventional style to British motorcyclists eyes, with semi-tubular frame, large side covers and larger wheels this gave way by the early seventies to the very similar A4 tourer and K4 sports versions, still very much sought after today by the classic Japanese motorcycle fancier.
The 1973 CD175 here today is of the A4 model designation, very similar in appearance to the earlier AK3 version but easily identified by its prefix 300 frame no. and correct Candy Ruby Red paintwork. This desirable, practical, M registered example of an early Honda four-speed four-stroke twin is offered with a v5, some (expired) mot's, sales receipts and entered by the owner as 'all good' with 'fair' chromework and paint finish at a very reasonable reserve. After the usual re-commissioning this bike should be shortly returning to the road.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
