  • Part of an enthusiast private collection for a number of years
  • Unfinished project to create a street scrambler style A7SS
  • C1955 A7SS HC engine in standard BSA twin frame
  • Alloy Lyta style fuel tank and fitted with alloy mudguards
  • A few bespoke stainless steel parts made by engineer owner
  • Unfortunately no documents with this bike

The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited (BSA) was established in the Small Heath area of Birmingham in 1861 and, as the name suggests, BSA manufactured weapons. Around the turn of the century they started making bicycles and progressed onto motorcycles a few years later. BSA went on to become one of the world's largest producers of motorcycles up until its demise in the early 1970s.

Part of an enthusiast's small private collection for a number of years this is a very interesting unfinished street scrambler project. It looks to be a standard BSA 'A' series frame fitted with an A7SS HC engine, an alloy Lyta style fuel tank and alloy mudguards. There are a few nice bespoke touches, with parts made out of alloy and stainless steel by the engineer owner, such as the rear mudguard stays, engine plates and brake anchors. The engine number is stamped CA7SS1924, the frame number is not particularly clear but appears to be CB21 9979 with confusingly the number 2 upside down. There is no paperwork supplied with this bike but it will still make an interesting project for someone to complete.
