Produced by Mike King Racing, based in Sandwich, Kent, renowned for expertise in crafting authentic replicas of classic cars spanning brands like Bentley, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, ERA, MG, and Delage, this particular creation is built upon the framework of a Triumph 2000. Underneath its exterior lies a six-cylinder engine and mechanical components, encased in handcrafted aluminium bodywork, accented by fiberglass mudguards and a tail, meticulously designed to emulate the iconic aesthetic of the Type 35. Among its distinctive features are the wheels, constructed to replicate the specifications of the legendary Type 35. The interior showcases instruments sourced from Marks of Tunbridge Wells, elegantly arranged within an engine-turned, aluminium dashboard, evoking a sense of nostalgia and craftsmanship reminiscent of a bygone era.

Finished in Bugatti Blue with Tan seats ‘JIL 5259’ is believed to be only one of fifteen Bugatti Type 35 evocations built by Mike King Racing, with this example the only one to be made with a driver’s door for the disabled first owner. Understood to have been subject to re-commissioning and fully checked through including new brake and clutch master cylinders in c.2017 before becoming part of the Aberaeron Collection, ‘JIL 5259’ is offered with an MOT test certificate which expired in October 2018, some press articles and a current V5C Registration Document.
