On offer is a BSA Gold Star Special built as a BSA SR650, sadly there is not much history with regards to the machine, other than it was built-up back in the 1990s and built from parts left over from the factory, but there is no evidence to support this. It came into the hands of Norman White of Norton Racing fame and he has not had the time to do anything with it and has now decided to pass it on to a new owner. There is no documentation with this lot.
The vendor has provided us with further information on this machine below.
It is described a BSA because as it was modified whilst under the direction of BSA Regal, Electrical engineers in Southampton who owned the name BSA and also Andover Norton at the time. It was given to me by Bob Trigg, former chief designer at Norton Villiers and later consultant for Yamaha. The other modified machine I believe is in the National Motorcycle Museum in the form of a flat tracker and labelled “Ascot”.
