Calthorpe cars and motorcycles were built by Minstrel and Rea in Birmingham. Motor cycle output was mainly light- to middle-weight until, in 1929, a 500 OHC machine was listed. At the same time the 'Ivory' range appeared, so-called because of their colour in an age when black was the industry's default finish. In the recession-hit 'thirties, Calthorpes were exclusively retailed by the prominent London retailers Pride and Clarke.

This is a rare 250cc Calthorpe Ivory project. With just a handful of machines known to the club, this would be an ideal and very rewarding machine once completed.
