Harley Davidson was established in Milwaukee in 1903 and has gone on to become one of the world's most iconic and longest-running motorcycle manufacturers. Harley epitomises large-capacity cruisers that many have tried to copy but have never managed to match Harley's image and prestige.
This very striking Harley has formed part of a collection of motorcycles. A ‘Fatboy’ facelift in 1998 and since has been uprated to 1200cc. Extensive tuning work carried out during the 1990s. Full engine overhaul in 2012. Practically one family owned from new. It comes with many desirable accessories fitted including sat-nav. Also fitted Mikuni RS flat slide carb, K&N air filter & Hines Exhaust, Corbin panniers. Harley Davidson quick release screen and cruise lights. It comes complete with a current V5C and various paperwork etc.
This particular bike started life as 883 Hugger and was first registered in April 1993 to V+M Tuning, the vendor’s tuning firm. In 1994 it was uprated by them to 1200cc including cylinder head and camshaft work, a Mikuni RS flat slide carb, K&N air filter and a Vance & Hines performance exhaust. In 1998 the bike was given a full cosmetic facelift to create a 'Fatboy' look using many original Harley parts together with an aftermarket large capacity fuel tank, all modification work carried out by LSL in Germany to show winning standards. It was then used to tour Europe and attend various rallies and bike shows picking up many awards along the way, the best fun being convincing admirers that it was a Sportster and not a Big Twin! The next transformation came in 2012 when the engine was given a rebuild including a rebore, top-end overhaul, new valves and bearings. At the same time it was refinished in its current classic Black and Cream colour scheme and fitted with matching Corbin panniers, a genuine HD quick release screen and cruise lights to create a 'Bagger' look. The bike returned to its touring duties and has done approximately 12000 km since, the last trip being a tour to Sweden, and comes fitted with a sat-nav and a new battery. The bike has essentially been in one family's ownership from new, sold to a friend in 2003 on the condition the vendor had first refusal and coming home a couple of years later having covered very few extra miles.
