Mills Extreme Vehicles, more commonly known as MEV, launched in 2003, and since has designed and manufactured some 28 kit cars. The MEV Rocket kit-car was an exoskeleton four-wheel, two-seater, mid-engined car. Prototyped in 2006 with manufacture starting in late 2006, they were marketed as the low-cost alternative to the Ariel Atom. By the time production ceased in 2009, around 150 kits had been manufactured.
Manufactured in 2007, this MEV Rocket is a freshly built example that requires finishing and fettling to complete. The clutch needs attention, as well as the ECU connecting and setting up. Finished in striking Blue and Yellow paintwork, the MEV is fitted with the 1.6-litre Ford Zetec engine allied to five-speed manual transmission. Entered from long-term ownership, the Rockets featured a fully welded exoskeletal chassis, front and rear bulkheads, aluminium fuel tank, and alloy floorplan.
