With a strong following as a modern classic, the MG Fs and TFs featured a mid-mounted 1.6-litre or 1.8-litre engine and arguably handle better than the highly regarded Mazda MX5. The second-generation MG TF changed from the earlier car’s complex Hydragas suspension, in favour of coil springs. With the MkII's launch came a revised grille and headlights. Production was suspended in April 2005, when MG Rover collapsed but not before 39,249 MkII MG TFs were built (from 2002 onwards). A great value British classic.
Manufactured in 2004, this TF 160 was first registered in the United Kingdom on the 7th of July that year and is fitted with the desirable 1796cc straight-four K-Series engine with the five-speed manual transmission. Finished in Silver with Black interior upholstery and a Black hood, the MG has covered some 67,300 miles from new and has resided in current registered ownership since 2018. The accompanying history file contains the original stamped service book that displays service stamps at miles 7,248; 14,780; 21,642; 27,139; 33,392; 36,349 and 40,526, with further service invoices in the file for miles 50,186 and 58,523. Benefitting from new stainless steel coolant pipes in 2021, rear brake discs and calipers in 2020, the MG has also been fitted with a slick shift precision gear change kit. The file also includes a collection of invoices and previous MOTs, and a current V5C document. Offered with both a rare body coloured hard-top, and the tonneau cover trimmed in Black, the MG possess a no advisory MOT certificate until April 2024.
