The Birmingham Small Arms factory was established in the Small Heath area of Birmingham in 1861 and as the name suggests manufactured weapons. Around the turn of the century, they started making bicycles and progressed onto motorcycles a few years later. BSA went on to be one of the world's largest producers of motorcycles up until its demise in the early 1970s.
This 'matching numbers' A7 500cc twin has been authentically restored between 2016 and 2020 with a powder-coated frame and the bodywork professionally refinished in original colours by Ultimate Bike Paint. The engine has been overhauled retaining its standard bore size and a new exhaust system fitted together with a wheel rebuild using stainless rims and spokes. In use up to Autumn 2020, it will need some recommissioning before use and comes with a current V5C, a buff logbook and a history file.
