In the early '70s, Porsche had designs on racing a turbocharged version of the 911, in support of which they planned to create a homologation special along the lines of the Carrera 2.7 RS. A change in the rules negated the need to sell a precise number of street legal race vehicles, but the company decided to continue with the project anyway - the Porsche 911 Turbo or 930 was born. The 930 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show of 1974 and produced from 1975 to 1989, during which time it was the fastest production car available on the German market. It was based around the Carrera RS 3.0, the engine from which was modified courtesy of turbo technology originally developed for the 917/30 CAN-AM cars. Initially, power output was 260bhp but from 1978 it was increased to 300bhp by raising the engine capacity to 3.3-litres. To accommodate the extra performance over the RS 3.0, the 930 sported revised suspension, larger brakes and a robust, four-speed gearbox. In order to help deliver the power to the road, a 'whale tail' rear spoiler was fitted and a wider rear wheel/tyre package was squeezed under specially flared arches. Adding this level of power to the already oversteer-prone handling of the 911 created a car that was not for the faint hearted. In skilled hands, however, a 930 will show a clean pair of heels to most rivals.

Although, Porsche reputedly trimmed three ‘C16’ specification 930 cars with Grey-Green leather during the 1986 model year, chassis GS000302 is understood to be unique in that it also features a hide covered dashboard and headlining plus heated front Sports seats. Finished in striking Arctic Silver, the supercar was supplied new via Gordon Ramsey Porsche of Newcastle upon Tyne to local property developer, Mehran Adlparvar Esq. who had it registered as ‘1 LOF’. Warranted to have covered some 83,000 miles from new (which equates to a modest 2,184 miles per year), the odometer reading is reportedly substantiated by twenty services and old MOT certificates dating back to 1990 (at 12,734 miles). Treated to new sills as part of a bodywork restoration and respray that was undertaken circa fifteen years ago, the Porsche has been subtly uprated with an infotainments system and USB ports etc. The bespoke interior is pleasingly well preserved and original, while the last major bill on file is from BS Motorsport of Aylesbury. Dated 25th April 2023, it encompasses a gearbox overhaul and steering rack refurbishment etc at a cost of some £7,136.32. Passing its last MOT test on September 26th 2023 with ‘no advisories’, this ‘one off’ 930 is accompanied by a V5C Registration Document and history file.
