Lot details Registration No: SV 6318 Chassis No: 101727 Mot Expiry: Exempt
Announced in 1922, the now immortal Austin Seven was powered by a 696cc (soon increased to 747cc) side-valve engine. It also featured four-wheel braking, front suspension by transverse leaf spring, and a live rear axle sprung by a pair of quarter elliptic units. The model remained in production from 1922 until 1939, during which time some 290,000 were produced. The remaining cars are a vital element of the Vintage movement, among the rarer of which are the RK Box Saloons that were available with either fabric-covered or aluminium bodies from 1927 to 1930. `SV 6138' is an example of the aluminium-bodied cars. Very nicely-presented in Blue over Black and trimmed in Blue, it is currently considered by the vendor to have `very good' bodywork, paintwork, upholstery, four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox. Owned by the current keeper since 2007, it is now offered complete with V5C and four MOTs to 2011
