Lot 9 - 1951 Allard P1

1951 Allard P1

Sold for £8,212

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: MLW 872
Chassis No: 91P2252
Mot Expiry: June 2003

The Allard P1 was an amalgam of the J1 and M1 models and, with 569 examples produced, it was the company's most popular model. It was in an Allard P1 that Sydney Allard won the 1952 Monte Carlo Rally and he is still the only man to win a major rally in a car of his own make.
This 1951 Allard P1 saloon has been the subject of a £10,000 restoration over the last two years and that has included a full re-wire, a bare metal respray, a new headlining and new chromework and it can only now be described as being in excellent condition throughout. The previous owner kept the vehicle for twenty five years before selling it to the present owner who has informed us that it drives very well indeed.
It has a current MOT certificate until June 2003 and still retains its original registartion plate of MLW 872 and this is an excellent example of a very desirable and rare car and will surely bring joy to the lucky new owner.
