Further info:
This exquisite-looking example of TVR's most popular model had four keepers before being acquired by the vendor in August 2016. It has subsequently been treated to a comprehensive two year restoration. The chassis and suspension components proved to be in good shape, but the front wishbones were still replaced as a precaution, and all parts sand blasted, double primed and powder-coated for extra protection. The body was stripped as required, fully primed and treated to an anti-chip coat on the sills and wheelarch rims. The underside was then finished in Satin Black and the upper body in 2000 Land Rover Wimbledon Green, while the headlight lenses were nickel-plated and the windscreen wipers replaced.
The powertrain was treated to new drive belts, head gaskets and bolts and a fresh clutch assembly. The radiator was flushed and flow tested and the water pump and hoses replaced, as were the fuel pipes and filters. The braking system was treated to fresh pipes and braided hoses; new calipers, discs and pads all-round; and new handbrake cables. The running gear was also brought up to scratch courtesy of replacement bushes and bolts throughout, new Gaz Gold Pro fully adjustable coilovers all round, and replacement wheel bearings. To complete the picture, a new hood and rear window were put in place, along with retrimmed seats and door cards, fresh carpets and a re-veneered facia. Finally, to suitably protect the investment, the TVR was treated to a Clifford remote locking immobiliser/alarm.
Unsurprisingly, the vendor now has little hesitation in classing the bodywork, paintwork, interior trim, V8 engine and five-speed manual gearbox as all being in `excellent' condition, and the car's electrical equipment as `very good'. He is now selling `N291 YNC' complete with full details and photos of the work carried out, owner's handbook, partially stamped service book, and an MOT valid into July.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
