Chassis No: S10498
Mot Expiry: Aug 2013

Just 75 of the 261 16/80s made are known to the Lagonda Club. A desirable factory-bodied T7 Tourer, this particular example - chassis S10498 - was initially road registered as `BPA 334' by Surrey County Council on 8th December 1933. Although it self-evidently survived World War Two, the Lagonda's early life is otherwise a mystery until January 1961 when an accompanying continuation buff logbook shows that the four-seater belonged to Thomas Edward Arundel Verity of Forest Hall, Northumberland. Known to have passed through the hands of Peter Arundel Verity of Forest Hall, Dennis N Multon of Edinburgh and Wilfred Cross of Kings Norton thereafter, the 16/80 had undergone the beginnings of a restoration by the time it entered the current ownership during 2004. A mechanical engineer by profession, the vendor nevertheless stripped the Lagonda back to a bare chassis as part of a methodical refurbishment that saw attention paid to its steering, suspension (new leather gaiters, rubber bump stops etc), brakes (upgraded high tensile steel cables), wheels / tyres, bodywork (ash frame and panels repaired as necessary), weather gear (hood, tonneau and sidescreens renewed), back axle, four-speed manual gearbox and engine. As well as being reconditioned, the OHV straight-six had its starter motor / dynamo / magneto overhauled and gained a stainless steel exhaust. Professionally resprayed in Black (the same colour listed on its buff logbook) and fitted with a new wiring harness, `BPA 334' looks every inch the 1930s sports car. Starting readily upon inspection, this handsome Post Vintage Thoroughbred is offered for sale with continuation buff logbook, owner's handbook, restoration photos and MOT certificate valid until August 2013.
