With permanent 4-wheel drive transmission and turbocharged 2-litre 4-cylinder engine, the Lancia Delta Integrale HF became not only unbeatable between the lights in Turin, but the undisputed World Championship winning rally car for several seasons. The transmission featured an epicyclic centre diff and torque splitter with Ferguson viscous coupling and Torsen rear differential. In 1986, the first Integrale had 165bhp motors. By 1987, the power output of the even more sporting HFs had been boosted to 185bhp and the 0-100kph time of the standard production Integrale had gone down to 6.5sec, whilst the top speed had risen to a potential 215kph.
The 1989 lefthand drive example offered here, which came to the UK some four years ago and is painted red with grey interior, is claimed to be in remarkably original condition. The Staffordshire vendor believes the 18,344 kilometres displayed when entered to be the genuine total driven from new. The Italian road rocket has just been serviced and a full year's MOT should be in place by sale day - potential purchasers should be able to inspect the certificate by checking out the history file in the Documents Office at Buxton. There can be few more rapid means of getting from A to B - a smile on your face would be guaranteed!
