Tough, economical, reliable and sensibly-priced, Fiat's charming Nuova 500 introduced in 1957 made car ownership a reality for millions for whom it had previously been a mere dream, and was the first choice of countless teenagers - Grand Prix drivers Michael Schumacher and Jean Alesi among them. From 1968 there was the option of a luxury (Lusso) version - the 500L - that featured chrome nudge bars front and rear, superior wheel trims, moquette carpets, redesigned reclining front seats and revised instrumentation, including a fuel gauge. The last 500 rolled off the production line in 1975, by which time no less than 3.25 million had been built. The L now offered for sale is a left-hand drive example featuring Orange paintwork and Orange-piped Black interior trim. It appears to have had just three owners from new and comes complete with whitewall tyres, radio, V5C and a collection of four old MOTs running to 2012.
