Although the MkF proved to be the company's most popular Minicar with some 7000 being built, the company could hardly rest on its laurels. Updating the Minicar yet again in September of 1961, with the somewhat unsurprisingly designated MkG range. Despite its similar appearance to the previous model, the MkG Minicar featured many important improvements. The engine was updated to the new Villiers 246cc Mk35A engine, the rear suspension was redesigned and now incorporated trailing arms, coil springs, and hydraulic shock absorbers, and the brakes were brought up to date with a Lockheed hydraulic system. The passenger compartment was redesigned to give more room and the Saloon models incorporated a cut-back rear window, headroom over the rear seats (accommodating two adults in comfort), and improved visibility. Other refinements included: opening quarter lights, wind-up door windows, improved interior trim, and 10" wheels
Manufactured in 1963, the MkG is finished in Blue with a complimentary Blue and Grey interior and is fitted with the 250cc twin-cylinder Villiers engine allied to the four-speed manual transmission. A rare survivor of the just over 3000 examples manufactured, the Bond is described by the vendor as ‘very presentable’ and in ‘good usable condition’ and is rated as ‘good’ or ‘very good’ throughout. Offered with a current V5C document.
