Lot details
Registration No: UNM521W
Frame No: 090531
Engine No: 091863
cc: 900
MOT Expiry Date: July 2005

Statistically rare and much sought after by Super Bike aficionados, this `Duke', a 1981 Bologna-built 900cc Super Sports with 90 degree v-twin cylinder motor and classic desmodromic overhead valve operating system, has been a much cherished part of a collection of fine motorcycles owned by a local enthusiast engineer for eleven years. During this time UNM 521W has only been ridden during the summer months.
According to the vendor, the Ducati is still as original as it can be, having not been "messed around with" or, one decoke apart (carried out at 16,000 miles by `Track and Classic Bikes` of Stockport), even dismantled in any way. The 22,403 mileage indicated when entered for this sale is claimed by the owner to be the genuine total for the machine from new.
Supplied with the bike, which is finished in black and gold, comes with all previous MOT certificates, the latest current until next July, as well as the original manufacturer's handbook. Overall cosmetic and mechanical condition is reportedly in A1 condition. This model is arguably the greatest of the street legal Italians.
