According to information supplied by the vendor, this unusual Rice Folding Caravan is "alleged to be one of only six left in the country". A wonderful period piece, it is reputed to retain the same interior fabric and lino fittings with which "it left Skipton sixty-nine years ago". Finished in light green (a 1930s Dulux shade with a textured finish), the exterior is said to have had "some of the sides and roof" renewed in marine ply, though "the chassis side members have been replaced with oak". Primarily furnished in wood, the interior boasts a table (complete with integral sink / draining board), factory-fitted storage cupboards / drawers and a two-ring gas hob. Riding on steel "easy clean" wheels, the Rice is described by the vendor as being in good condition with regard to its electrical equipment, chassis, bodywork, paintwork and tyres (while, he rates the interior trim as "original but serviceable"). Quite charming in itself, this folding caravan also promises to be lighter to tow and easier to store than its 'full size' peers.
