PLEASE NOTE: The vendor informs us that on the drive to the sale, the clutch slave cylinder developed a fault and would reccomend repair and/or replacement.

The Land Rover was launched in 1948 and, incredibly, production of the traditional Defender only finished in January 2016 after a continuous run of 67 years. Outwardly, there is little to distinguish the post-1983 vehicles from the Series III Land Rover. Internally, coil springs offered a more comfortable ride and a permanent four-wheel-drive system derived from the Range Rover featuring a two-speed transfer gearbox with a lockable centre differential. A modernised interior and a new series of progressively more powerful and modern engine characterised things under the skin. The Defender was fitted with an all-new 2.4-litre, five-cylinder in-line turbo/diesel engine and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

First registered on 25th August 2009, this very practical iteration of the Defender has a 6-speed manual gearbox mated to its desirable 2.4 TDCI engine. The Defender’s specification includes 3 seats in the rear, a tow bar, winch and a hardtop cover. Displaying some 130,000 miles on the odometer it has benefitted from maintenance and upkeep in the recent 2-year ownership, that includes the chassis being treated with Waxoyl and having the offside rear shock absorber replaced. Being bought by businesses throughout it's life, VAT is payable on the hammer price as well as buyer's premium. A new battery is expected to be fitted to the Defender prior to the auction. It is being offered with a current V5C Registration Document.

PLEASE NOTE: VAT is payable on the hammer price achieved by this lot (as well as on the buyer’s premium)
