  • 95,400 miles from new and supplied by Roger Clark Cars
  • Offered with the original owner’s manual and service book
  • Subject to extensive recommissioning and servicing in 2017
  • Finished in Light Bronze Metallic with Brown leather trim

Introduced at the 1977 Geneva Motor Show, the 928 was conceived (and priced) as the flagship of the Porsche range. A luxurious GT, it was styled in-house by American Tony Lapine as a replacement for the ageing 911. Ultimately, the newcomer failed to usurp its sibling despite becoming the only sports car ever to win the European Car of the Year title (1978). Built around a galvanised steel monocoque, the 2+2 made extensive use of aluminium for its wheels, doors, bonnet, transaxle housing, front suspension wishbones, rear suspension uprights, upper links and main cross member. Available with a choice of manual or automatic transmission the 928 was regarded as a crushingly capable Grand Tourer. Porsche introduced a refreshed 928 S into the European market in the 1980 model year. Externally, the S wore new front and rear spoilers and sported wider wheels and tyres than the older variant, but the main change for the 928 S was under the hood, where a revised 4.7 L engine was used.

Built at Stuttgart on the 15th of September 1982 and first registered on 12th October 1982, this is a 1983 model year Porsche 928 S. Displaying 95,400 miles of enjoyment from new, this 928 S was supplied finished in Light Bronze Metallic (Hellbronze Metallic) with Brown leather and complementing Brown carpet and trim. Roger Clark Cars of Narborough, Leicestershire, a Porsche concessionaire ran by the icon of British rally driving, Roger Clark, supplied the car in 1982. Clark also drove Porsches competitively and drove a 928 daily. With a comprehensive specification; automatic transmission, electric and heated passenger door mirror, cruise control, sunroof and the 928 ‘telephone dial’ forged alloy wheels, this grand tourer was also supplied with air conditioning (serviced in 2016) and the Porsche branded Blaupunkt radio cassette player.

In 2017 this 928 S was the subject of extensive recommissioning and servicing. In addition to its service and stamp in 2017, the car received a cambelt kit, brake fluid and a coolant change. With further mechanical fettling at the time, there are hand-written service notes accompanying. The car is offered with a Porsche Tyre guide, Porsche ‘care kit’ box, an original sales brochure and parts and technical catalogue, a copy of DVLA ownership history, a collection of invoices, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, original owner’s manual and service book and the current V5C.
