Further Info:

First registered by Kent County Council on 30th May 1962 (or so its '82 TKR' number plate would imply), this highly presentable Sprite MKII was treated to an extensive restoration in 2008-2009. Put into dry storage two years later, the Austin-Healey has covered a minimal mileage since the work was completed. The underside was painted body colour and still looks smart. The interior was treated to new Black upholstery (piped in Red) and Black carpets. The hood and sidescreens were similarly renewed. The engine currently fitted to the car - number 9CG-DA-H29406 - tallies with the V5C and so may well be the original powerplant. Sporting halogen headlights and benefiting from the recent installation of new quarter-elliptic rear springs, '82 TKR' started readily upon inspection and is said to be 'good fun to drive'. Offered for sale with V5C Registration Document (showing three previous keepers) and sundry restoration photographs, invoices and old MOTs.

Introduced in May 1961, the Mark II version of Austin-Healey's Sprite sported a more conventional visage courtesy of its full-width grille and wing mounted headlights. Other niceties included a rear bumper and opening boot lid. More civilised but slightly heavier than its 'Frogeye' predecessor, the Mark II boasted more power and torque (up to 46bhp/53lbft) courtesy of improved carburetion and a close-ratio gearbox. Reputedly capable of 85mph, the lightweight two-seater remained great fun to drive.
