Triumph is one of the most iconic and revered names in the history of motorcycling. Established in Coventry in 1885, by the start of the 1900s the company had made their first motorcycle beginning a continuous run of production under various ownership until its eventual closure in 1983. In 1937 the Edward Turner designed Speed Twin was released launching a range of Triumph twins that went on to epitomize British motorcycles in the post-war years. The 350cc 3TA was the first unit construction twin from the Meridan factory and was more generally called the '21', possibly to celebrate 21 years since the formation of Robert Sangsters Triumph Engineering Co, they also became known as 'Bathtubs' due to the distinctive fully enclosed rear end.
This very attractive metallic blue 21 was bought by its enthusiast owner in 2002 and has been used by him to attend Rallies and Vintage Club events picking up a few awards along the way. He has carried out a lot of fundraising for Air Ambulance and Blood Bike charities over the years using the bike as a centre point for his displays but is now having to reluctantly let it go due to ill health. An older restoration it has a nice used patina and comes fitted with a set of period color-matched panniers containing a few tools, spare cables and even a route map roller that fits on the tank grill for vintage runs. There is a large number of old MOTs and a few workshop, owners and spares manuals included as well as a V5C registration document. It has not run now for a couple of years due to the owner's health so will need a new battery and recommissioning before use.
