For the 1932 season BSA introduced a new line of sporting singles in the 350 and 500 classes to their range. Carrying the name "Blue Star" the three fifty featured a tuned version of the existing single with a higher compression ratio, hotter cams and stronger valve springs. The 500cc variant was based on the newly introduced 85mm x 88mm over head valve vertical single with similar tuning modifications to those employed on the 350cc in comparison to the standard model. For the 1933 season BSA added a 250cc version of the Blue Star to the range together with a more highly tuned version of the 500cc variant of the Blue Star, typed the Special intended primarily for competition use, with a 350cc variant of the Special being added for the following season which also saw the Blue Star adopting electric lighting as standard.
This example of this quite rare model was restored to a good standard during 2006 and is described as running well by the vendor. It is offered without documents.
