The Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a rally homologation special of the fifth-generation Escort. It was designed to qualify as a Group A car for the World Rally Championship, in which it competed between 1993 and 1998. It was available as a road car from 1992-96 in very limited numbers, only 7,145 vehicles were produced from the start of production on 19 February 1992 until the last car rolled out of the factory on 12 January 1996. It was instantly recognisable due to its large "whale tail" rear spoiler. With the Escort RS Cosworth having seen a significant value hike in recent years, it should be no surprise that evocations of the iconic car are now being produced.

Beginning life as a Escort GTi Mk6, ‘S397 GPN’ was supplied new by Evans Halshaw of Pontypridd, Wales to its first owner on the 31^st of August 1998. Many years later, the Escort was elected as a prime candidate for the basis of a conversion to an Escort RS Cosworth Mk5 evocation, with work commencing during 2022. The evocation’s build was completed in late 2023, with the Escort gaining the iconic Cosworth styling including the "whale tail" rear spoiler, wheels, and wide-body kit, and mechanically a sports exhaust provides a pleasing sound. Originally finished in Green (and therefore not showing a colour change on HPI), the Escort has been painted in the Cosworth correct hue of Mallard Green paintwork and is complemented by an RS2000 interior.

In current registered ownership since 2015, the Escort has covered a modest 85,000 miles from new at the time of consignment and has had six former keepers. Supplied with a history file that contains the book pack in Ford wallet with the owner's handbook and service book, which is stamped with service history until 2007, the majority being completed by Ford main agents.
