Lot details Registration No: CBY467G Chassis No: 3576509 Mot Expiry: T.B.A.
Extensively restored and upgraded by its previous keeper - a Hungarian DS specialist - before entering the current ownership four years ago, chassis 3576509 is understood to have had its 2175cc engine converted to run on LPG (or petrol) and its semi-automatic gearbox modified to give five forward speeds. A recent lack of garaging means that the Chapron Blue over Grey paintwork now sports various imperfections. However, the interior complete with `rectangular dial' dashboard, Continental Edison radio and Cream leather upholstery remains very presentable. Treated to a new n/s/r wheel bearing, tow bar, front brake pads, inner drive shaft gaiters, refurbished wheels and five new tyres by marque specialist Dave Ashworth of Blackpool (£2,213.95) in June 2010, `CBY 467G' was subsequently inspected and valued by the Citroen Car Club for insurance purposes at £17,000. Starting readily upon inspection, it is hoped but not guaranteed that this rare Safari will possess a fresh certificate by the time of sale.
PLEASE NOTE: This lot has not been submitted for MOT testing since February 2012. We have had it running and driving at the sale but it does not possess a current / valid MOT certificate.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
