Trident production had ceased during the autumn of 1973 as a result of the workers sit in at Meriden where the Tridents frame and final assembly was carried out, although the engines were built at Small Heath. Production did not recommence until the spring of 1974 by which time it had become apparent that the triple was in need of a face lift if it was to compete with the new superbikes emerging from Japan. A new version was announced in 1975, typed the T160. In the revised form the Trident adopted the inclined cylinder engine previously used by the BSA Rocket 3 and equipped with a rear disc brake to compliment the unit at the front. The styling was revised with a new fuel tank and side panels and a new exhaust system that featured a "split" central exhaust pipe giving the impression of a 4 into 2 system. The result is arguably one of the most handsome British motorcycles produced.
The extremely attractive example offered, dates from 1975 has benefitted from a full restoration carried out by its current owner. The brightwork and paintwork are described as being in good condition as is the electrical system and transmission and the engine is described as "running perfectly" following the restoration. It is offered with a Swansea V5C.
