The 1968 model year was one of significant change for the Buick Skylark. Although still using the same basic chassis, all of GM's mid-sized cars adopted a policy of using two different length wheelbases. Two-door models used a shorter wheelbase of 112 in (2,845 mm), while four-door models used a longer wheelbase of 116 in (the Buick Sport Wagon and Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser used an even longer wheelbase of 121 in). All of GM's mid-sized cars received all-new sheet metal, incorporating a semi-fastback appearance, which was a revival of a streamlining on all GM products from 1942 until 1950 as demonstrated on the Buick Super Club Coupe (sedanette). More Federally mandated safety features improved occupant protection and accident avoidance, including side marker lights, shoulder belts (on all models built after January 1, 1968), and parking lights that illuminated with headlights.

This Skylark was manufactured in 1968 and was supplied by Chas. H. Jenkins & Co. having been assembled in the Flint, Michigan assembly plant. Fitted with the 5700cc 350cu V8 engine mated to the two-speed Super-Turbine gearbox. Costing $£4,024.55 when new with $1,100.55 attributed to additional extras from factory, the Buick still retains many of its original features including the Sonomatic Buick radio, tilt steering wheel, wind deflectors, air conditioning, servo-brakes, and power steering. Finished in two-tone green and cream paintwork with green interior upholstery.

Understood to have had just one lady owner in America, ‘EUG 490F’ came from North California into the UK in 2008, receiving a repaint and other remediation work upon arrival. The mileage is recorded at 35,274 miles at the time of consignment, which is thought to be correct. The Buick is accompanied by a current V5C; owner's manual; owner protection plan; original bill of sale; Classic American magazine feature; a large collection of past MOTs and a spare key.
