The Goodwood was a limited-edition version of the GTi with a full black leather interior as standard. Available in limited numbers for the United Kingdom (with only 398 examples thought to have been constructed), in metallic pinewood green with anthracite Speedline alloy wheels, a polished metal lip on the outer rim and badging depicting the Goodwood racing circuit on the front wings, tailgate and steering wheel boss. The high asking price at launch is thought to be the reason some examples did not find homes until 1994, hence some being registered on an 'L' prefix registration. Options included a wooden steering wheel, gearknob and CD Autochanger.
This 309 GTi was manufactured in 1992 and was registered new in the United Kingdom on the 3rd of November 1992. Fitted with the 1905cc straight-four engine and five-speed manual gearbox, the Peugeot is finished in its original colour of metallic pinewood green with anthracite wheels with leather interior. Having only two owners from new, the first custodian retaining the car for some 21 years, with ‘K644 GVO’ entering current ownership in 2013. The 309 GTi was subject to an engine overhaul to fast road specification by Shenpar Competitions including a new exhaust and performance manifold to the cost of over £2800 in 2006.
‘K644 GVO’ further benefitted from new track rod ends and reconditioned rear axle and mounts in 2008 costing over £700. Additional new parts included a new radiator and cambelt (2012), strut brace (2011), brake pads and lines (2010) and replacement clutch (2009). Covering approximately 100 miles since entering current ownership, the Peugeot was subject to some welding, refitting of brake pipes, a new horn and new fuel pipes in 2020 at the cost of £1271, and was provided with an MOT certificate until October 2021. Offered with a history file that includes invoices showing annual servicing between 2005 and 2013, it also comprises the owner's handbook; dealer map and a current V5C.
