Founded in 1903 the Ford Motor Company skyrocketed from obscurity to dominate the American auto industry in less than twelve years. The foundation of this unparalleled success was of course the cheap and simple Model T, the world's first mass-produced car, but it was the T-Bird of the 1950's that really caught the American imagination.
This is the first of the three cars from the same private collection that we are pleased to offer today and this particular example dates from 1966 and has been in this collection for the past ten years. It comes with the continental kit and the roadster kit and has the twin highway patrol spotlights and a superb specification, which includes air conditioning. It is in excellent cosseted condition throughout and indeed all these cars spent their life in a special T-Bird garage, which can be seen from the photographs in the history file.
This is a rare and highly desirable car, which appeared in an episode of 'Boon' and featured on 'Top Gear' which comes with its original radio and I for one could watch the technical beauty of that folding roof all day long.
