1930 Ford Model A Convertible Cabriolet

Sold for £13,781

(including buyers premium)

Lot details
Registration No: BF 6788
Chassis No: A3281294
Mot Expiry: Exempt

Promoted by Ford as combining `the smart, youthful style of the Roadster and the snug, all-weather comfort of the Coupe', the Convertible Cabriolet's premium price tag meant that it accounted for just 1.25% of Model A production. Sub-contracted to the Briggs Manufacturing Company, its Type 68 coachwork featured an opening windscreen, easy-fold soft-top, dickey seat and wind-up windows. Belonging to Charles Streett of Maryland for twenty-eight years before entering the current ownership during November 2013, chassis A3281294 was sourced by the vendor for use at his French holiday home. Authenticated by Andy MacLean of the Ford Model A Club of GB and subsequently UK road registered, `BF 6788' presents as an older restoration. Reported to `drive well and track particularly true for a Model A', it sports an alternator and rides on new tyres. Only offered for sale due to a change of plans, this rare Ford is accompanied by a Maryland Certificate of Title, Instruction Book and Parts List.
