With the company firmly established in the Spanish market thanks to the success of the Tralla 101, Bultaco were able to expand their range of products rapidly at the start of the sixties. During 1960 the Bultaco 155, intended for use by those who regularly carried a pillion or wished to employ a lightweight sidecar was added to the range, as was the the Sherpa N, derived from the 155 as a trial bike and the Sherpa S scrambler which employed the Tralla 101 engine in a set of cycle parts suitable for scrambles use. The first Mercurio was introduced during 1961, derived again from the Tralla 101 it produced 9 bhp and was finished in a less extravagant way, with unpolished hubs and engine cases and a black silencer. The 125cc Mercurio was replaced in 1963 by a larger model typed the Mercurio 155. The new model was finished to a higher standard and employed an engine designed to offer good levels of torque for touring.
This example has been restored to a high standard in all respects in the traditional red silver and black livery. It is offered with Spanish papers.
